Keyfall listens to your piano through this device. It takes about a minute: allow the microphone, stay quiet for a moment, then play middle C.

My songs
Songs you imported live in this browser only (not as files). Rename them, tidy messy file names, find duplicates, choose which ones are in the Your songs course, and delete what you do not need. Settings › Backup now saves them too.

Songs
Each song has three levels. Easy teaches the tune section by section and waits for you. Medium plays along at a steady tempo. Hard adds the left hand at full speed. Practice lets you pick your own settings.

Set up
Allow the microphone
Put this device on the piano music stand, screen facing you. Audio is analysed on the device and never recorded or sent anywhere.
Stay quiet for a moment
Keyfall is measuring the background noise in the room.
Play middle C
Middle C is the C nearest the centre of the keyboard, just left of the pair of black keys in the middle. Play it a couple of times.
Test my piano
Play any note. Keyfall shows what it hears. If the note name is wrong or jumps around, move the device closer or reduce room noise.
Waiting for a note
The microphone is not on yet.
If notes are heard wrong
Every note one or two steps off? A digital keyboard may have transpose switched on. Set it back to 0 on the keyboard, or use Settings → Transpose correction.
Use wired headphones for play-along, so the microphone hears only your piano, not the backing track. Bluetooth headphones add a delay.
Tuning: an acoustic piano should be close to concert pitch (A = 440 Hz). Run set up again to measure how sharp or flat it is.
Placement: stand the device on the music stand, not behind the piano lid or under papers. Keep the room quiet.
Microphone blocked? Allow it for this site in the browser's site settings (the padlock by the address).
Best of all: a digital piano connected by USB or Bluetooth MIDI gives exact notes (Chrome or Edge).
